ONE BY KOSE Serum Shield is a highly moisturizing, high-sealing-power balm formulated with Rice Power No.11+, an active ingredient developed by Yushin Brewer Co., Ltd. KOSE states that Rice Power No.11+ is Japan's first quasi-drug active ingredient approved for the combined efficacy of moisture-retention improvement and wrinkle improvement in a single ingredient. This builds on the original Rice Power No.11, approved in 2001 as Japan's first quasi-drug active ingredient recognized for improving the skin's moisture-retention capacity.

The formula is designed to deliver moisture to the skin surface while penetrating deep into the stratum corneum to envelop and seal in hydration, addressing dryness and wrinkle concerns together. A high concentration of beauty water is held within a high-sealing-power balm, giving a fresh, non-greasy finish through KOSE's formulation technology. It is intended for those concerned about dryness, wrinkles, loss of firmness, and loss of luster associated with aging.

This product is classified as a 医薬部外品 (quasi-drug) under Japanese regulations, not a standard cosmetic. According to testing published by KOSE and Yushin Brewer, the wrinkle-improvement efficacy of Rice Power No.11+ was evaluated at the outer corners of the eyes, primarily at wrinkle grade 3–5 on the Japan Cosmetic Science Society's standardized scale, following 8 weeks of twice-daily use.

Usage

Use morning and night as an emulsion after toner, or as the final step in your skincare routine. Can also be used alone after cleansing. In the morning, apply before UV-protective products. Take a pearl-sized amount onto your fingertips and gently blend into the skin. Use a slightly smaller amount when applying underneath makeup.
